This course provides an introduction to controlling and improving quality in a manufacturing setting. This course explores ways that manufacturers use data and analysis to improve quality. MAFT-1232 Manufacturing Processes (2 Credits)
This course provides the fundamentals of machine shop theory and safe practice. While providing the basics of how manufacturing transforms materials into products, students will become familiar with tools, equipment and practices of tool, die and precision metal-working industries. The course also includes theory and operation of lathes, mills and surface grinders. Through classroom and laboratory learning experiences, students will make a working tool. They also will learn about types of production, materials used in production, and manufacturing processes including machining, casting and assembly.
